"A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst…a spark that creates extraordinary results.” Anonymous
“Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives.” ~ Anthony Robbins
“I have for many years endeavored to make this vital truth clear; and still people marvel when I tell them that I am happy. They imagine that my limitations weigh heavily upon my spirit, and chain me to the rock of despair. Yet, it seems to me, happiness has very little to do with the senses. If we make up our minds that this is a drab and purposeless universe, it will be that, and nothing else. On the other hand, if we believe that the earth is ours, and that the sun and moon hang in the sky for our delight, there will be joy upon the hills and gladness in the fields because the Artist in our souls glorifies creation. Surely, it gives dignity to life to believe that we are born into this world for noble ends, and that we have a higher destiny than can be accomplished within the narrow limits of this physical life.” ~ Helen Keller
I know we all deal with limitations, struggles, and hardships that are very real, but I also feel that our attitude towards these limitations reflect a lot on who we are. Helen Keller is a great example of someone who didn’t let her limitations define who she was.
I am interested to hear your thoughts on this question.
I am going to focus my thoughts around the following question this week. “How does our attitude reflect who we are?”
This is an interesting question that I am looking forward to exploring, and I am excited to see your thoughts and ideas as well.
Here is a great quote to start of the week.
“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” ~ Og Mandino
I have learned a few things as I have explored the principle of “the answer to all questions lie within” this week. I would love to hear what you have learned as well.
The more we pay attention to the inner voice within each of us, the more noticeable it becomes. Like a muscle, we have to work it out in order for it to strengthen. As we pay attention we will be able to notice when the answers come to our questions.
We all have the answers within each of us…and when we have the support of a coach or mentor that can assist us with recognizing these answers…results are increased
We have multiple voices that speak to us, and may be disguised as our “inner voice”. Some of them tell us that we are not good enough, that we cant do it, that we should stop trying. The others inspire us to take action to greatness. In the end we get to choose which one we listen to. We need to be able to recognize all of these promptings, but the ones we should listen to are the promptings that assist us in becoming who we are meant to be.
This clip shares some great insight into the battle we sometimes go through with the “inner voices” we have.
Here is to all of us listening to the inner voice that motivates, inspires, and directs us to greatness.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
I love this quote from Steve Jobs. It is one of my favorites. Having the courage to follow your heart and intuition takes effort, but it has been my experience that every time I do…things always work out for the best.
How has having the courage to follow your inner voice helped you?
I found this post that provided a great insight into the principle this week. Enjoy!
“When you realize that you always have the answers within yourself, you can stop searching outside of yourself.”
“Many of us seek the answers to life’s questions by looking outside of ourselves and trying to glean advice from the people around us. But as each of us is unique, with our own personal histories, our own sense of right and wrong, and our own way of experiencing the world that defines our realities, looking to others for our answers is only partially helpful.
The answers to our personal questions can be most often found by looking within. When you realize that you always have access to the part of you that always knows what you need and is meant to act as your inner compass, you can stop searching outside of yourself. If you can learn to hear, trust, and embrace the wisdom that lives within you, you will be able to confidently navigate your life.”

My thoughts for this week are going to be focused around the principle
The answers to all questions lie within.
I look forward to learning and getting your thoughts around this topic this week.
“There is very little need to look elsewhere for answers – about who you are and your purpose in life. For all these answers already lie within – just waiting to be discovered” – Eleesha
This week has been both inspiring and painful for me as I have focused on being more aware of how and when I judge myself and others.
I have felt pain as I have recognized how often I do this. Pain as my 12-year-old daughter shared her feelings around being judged by the world, and pain on how the world has trained us to judge/compare ourselves and others.
I have been inspired by the realization that this trend of judgement can be changed. I have been inspired to be more aware of my judgements and feel a renewed desire and motivation to stop this trend in my life.
The clip below gave me a perfect opportunity to put this renewed desire into action. When I saw the beginning, I found myself passing judgment on this man…but then I recognized it, let that judgment go, and really paid attention to what he was saying and the energy and passion he had. In the end, I was inspired by this man and the message he shared.
“Live in the moment, don’t get old, don’t judge people, because you can’t be free if you judge people.” “Love now, create, inspire.”
I hope that all of us can learn to be more aware of our judgments. By being more aware, we will be able to make a conscious choice on what we want to do about it.
How have you been able to lower the amount of judgement you place on yourself and others? I would love to hear what is working for you.
My 12-year-old daughter came up to me yesterday and asked me if I thought she was fat. It broke my heart to hear her say these words. I offered my thoughts around her question and in the end, with tears in her eyes, she thanked me for being such a good father and for inspiring her to believe in herself. That is a moment I will never forget!
As I thought about this experience last night I was reminded of the principle I have been studying this week. Our level of true awareness is directly related to our lack of Judging. I realized more than ever that this principle has to start with our SELF-JUDGEMENT. If we can’t overcome judging ourselves, how can we ever learn to overcome judging others?
We live in a world of judgement, of people telling us what they think, and it is sad that the “judgement” of the world has put this belief in my daughters mind that she has to be skinny to be beautiful. I disagree with this limiting belief and want my daughter, my wife, and my sons to always remember the quote below:
When we stop judging ourselves…we truly find freedom. When we do this, it doesn’t matter what other say about us, or what the world says we should do, or look like. We live for us. In the end…isn’t that what matters most?
