Never lose hope

I shared this quote with my wife and daughter this morning.  There are times in our lives when we feel down, discouraged, and scared.  this quote is a great reminder to all of us to have faith and patience…and things will always work out.

“Never give up. Never lose hope.  Always have faith, it allows you to cope.  Trying times will pass as they always do.  Just have patience, your dreams will come true. So put on a smile.  You’ll live through your pain.  Know it will pass and strength you will gain.”

Be deaf to negative thoughts

I came across this thought last week.  It is a great reminder to focus on your goal, and not let  negative thoughts distract you.

A frog decided to reach the top of a tree.  All frogs shouted, “its impossible, its impossible…”  Still the frog reaches the top…How?

Because he was Deaf…and he thought…everyone was encouraging him to reach the top.

Lesson: Be deaf to negative thoughts, if your aim is to reach your goal!!!

Action builds confidence

Great reminder this morning:

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.
Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear.
Perhaps the action you take will be successful;
perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow.
But any action is better than no action at all.  – Norman Vincent Peale

Too Busy?

I have been thinking a lot about this question over the last few weeks.  I realized something again this morning…

“Too busy” is a myth.  People make time for the things that are important to them.

I get so much satisfaction and joy from sharing these thoughts and quotes with each of you, and if it is really that important to me…then I will make time each day to share.

Would love to hear your thoughts on how the words “Too busy” hold you back from doing the things that are most important to you

Do you have destination addiction?

My family and I are going through another major life change right now, and I have found myself dreaming about what life is going to be like in a month, once everything is settled down.  I came across this quote last night that really hit me.

“Beware of destination addiction:  The idea that happiness is in the next place, the next job, or even with the next partner.  Until you give up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are.” – Anonymous

This quote reminded me that in addition to being able to choose how I respond to things, I also have the ability to choose to be happy.  I am going to focus on being happy where I am, and enjoy each and every moment.

Have a great day…and enjoy being happy where you are!

Believe

There are some mornings when you feel the need to have a little pick me up to get your day started. Today was one of those mornings for me.

This quote did it for me…and I hope it has the same impact on you.  Here’s to a great day and a great week!

Do we focus on what is missing in our lives, or all the wonderful blessings?

We are trying to sell our home right now.  The process has allowed me to build more patience and faith.  I was thinking about being away from my family this morning, and I found this quote.  It reminded me just how blessed I am in my life.

“When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives, but are grateful for the abundance that’s present…we experience heaven on earth.” – Sarah Breathnach

How often do we focus on the things that we don’t have, or the things that are missing in our lives, and forget to recognize ALL the wonderful blessings that we have?

I am going to continue to focus on recognizing all the abundance in my life…how about you?

Want meaning in your life?

I have seen this quote play out so many times in my life.

The way you get meaning into your life
is to devote yourself to loving others,
devote yourself to your community around you,
and devote yourself to creating something
that gives you purpose and meaning.  – Mitch Albom

What are the Benefits of Patience?

I came across this quote this morning.  It is another great quote about the benefits of developing and having patience.

“Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.” ~ Brian Adams

What has developing patience done for you?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

Developing Patience

I came across this Blog post this morning and was inspired by it. One of my new years resolutions is to develop more patience with myself and my family. There is so much great information in this post that I know will assist me in my goal.

What have you done to increase your patience?

Patience is:
1 – The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.
2 – An ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay: to have patience with a slow learner.
3 – Quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence: to work with patience.

When it comes to patience, can’t we all use a little more of it? I find I have patience with some people and situations, but not all. How patient are you?

I’ve heard it said that patience is a virtue. Why? Here’s an answer I read somewhere:

Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forbearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped…
