Are you living on purpose…or just drifting?

I have been reading the book “Living Forwad” and have been inspired by the topic of living life on purpose and with a plan, rather than just going through the motions.

I find that I go through the motions or “drift” through life more than I would like to.  I would assume there are times in our lives when we all do this.  I am excited to develop my life plan which will allow me to live more intentionally and on purpose.

Do you have a life plan?  If so, how has it helped you in your life?

Does 1/2 effort build momentum?

One of the principles that has stuck out to me again this month is that in order to get and then keep momentum in your life, work, relationships…you have to consistently WORK.

We can’t expect to see the results or see momentum build if we are not doing our part.

What can you do today to add to your momentum?

Do baby steps even matter?

I grew up playing baseball, so the analogy in this video hits home to me this morning. To gain and to keep momentum, we sometimes have to focus on the baby-steps, the simple wins…knowing that even these baby steps if done consistently will create momentum and eventually get us to our goal.

What are your plans to increase your momentum today?

Momentum

I was inspired by the consistency of the people I got to work with last month. It was a great month, and proved to me once again that being consistent is a KEY characteristic of successful people

This month I am going to focus on the principle of Momentum.

Consistency = Keeping your eye on YOUR goal

Another lesson I have learned this month is that to be consistent…you have to consistently keep your eye on YOUR goal – no matter what trials, distractions, discouragement, or frustrations try to get in your way.

A great example of this is what Michael Phelps did in the 2016 Summer Olympics. After being beaten in 2012 by Chad le Clos he came back and beat him in the same event in 2016.

The interesting thing for me in this story is that le Clos was beating everyone until the last 50 meters…but he took his eye of HIS goal and started looking at Phelps. le Clos lost his lead and ended up placing 4th.

Take a look at the picture below. How can you be like Michael Phelps in your life and use consistency to help you achieve your goals?

What are you doing with your time?

One thing I have learned this month as I have studied consistency is that we don’t know “how long” we will have to be consistent before we “see” the results.

The interesting thing about this is that the time is going to pass anyway…so why not be consistent while it is passing? This way you will have something valuable to show for the passage of your time.

Can you imagine what you could accomplish and what your life would like like if you were consistent for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or more? A little everyday will eventually equal…success.

Keep being consistent…the success will come!!!

Take the steps each day

Sometimes we can take HUGE steps, other times all we can take are BABY steps…but the important thing is to keep taking steps, keep staying consistent.

What are your plans today to be consistent today?
