What can we be grateful for?

I came across this video this morning.  Whether you believe in God or not, I feel that this video portrays a great message of the importance of gratitude.

I know that we sometimes focus on all the things that we “don’t have” or all the things that are causing us pain.  What if we paid more attention to the little things that we can be grateful for?  How would that change how we looked at life?  Please take a minute to watch the video below.

How can noticing and being grateful for the little things in life assist us in programming and directing our lives?

Gratitude…how can we live by this principle?

????????????????????????????????????????

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” – John Fitzgerald Kennedy

I love this quote.  Simple AND Powerful.

How do you live by gratitude?

Does gratitude help us have peace of mind?

I came across this quote this morning and that it was perfect for our focus on Gratitude this week. I find that having the peace of mind and happiness inside that gratitude can bring…allows me to better direct and program my life.

How does gratitude allow you to have peace of mind and happiness inside?

How can gratitude assist you in living your life?

Gratitude-Quotes3

This week, I am going to focus on the topic of Gratitude, and specifically look for thoughts and comments on how gratitude can assist us in living our lives with more purpose, direction, and joy.

How has gratitude assisted you in living a life with more purpose, direction, and joy?

Go For It…Program your life!

This is an amazing post that I wanted everyone to see.  Thanks Chris for the amazing insight and video.

“To be the best you…is to break through your fears…”

It’s February 2, a full 18 days since January 15 – the day that nearly 9 out of 10 people quit their New Year’s resolutions.

If you’re still on track, then kudos to you.

No matter your goal, whether it’s to add to your life or rid yourself of negative behaviors, the path is the same. Today, I want us to focus on how to get better in one area.

It doesn’t matter what you want to accomplish [as long as it’s legal], because again, the path is the same. And its simplicity in design is equaled by the tenacity you’ll need.

“To increase your ability in any given area, you must work tirelessly at that one point.”

You may be thinking “great insight.” But ask yourself honestly, how often have you completely immersed yourself in a particular effort?

Are you like most of us who work in drips and drabs? Are you minoring…

Are you going to be part of the Herd?

stand-out-in-a-crowd-ten-top-tips-for-getting-an-it-job

The human race is a herd. Here we are, unique, eternal aspects of consciousness with an infinity of potential, and we have allowed ourselves to become an unthinking, unquestioning blob of conformity and uniformity. A herd. Once we concede to the herd mentality, we can be controlled and directed by a tiny few. And we are.” – David Icke

I have learned so much this week as we have discussed living a conscious life. It has helped me pay more attention and be more aware of each time that I am going through the motions or living unconsciously.

My goal, is to make a conscious choice to program and direct my life in a way that creates the life, relationships, and happiness that I want.  As we have learned this week,  if I don’t...then life is going to do it for me.  I don’t want to be part of the Herd anymore.

What about you?

Anger…Is it an unconscious choice that holds us back from directing our lives?

Is anger an unconscious choice and emotion?

This is an interesting question for me.  I will be honest, there are times when I find myself getting angry.  Mostly with myself and my children.  As I have paid attention to my conscious choices, I have realized that Anger is truly an unconscious “reactionary” emotion, and that getting angry takes the control away from me being able to direct my life.

This quote provides some great insight on this emotion

“Patience and Compassion are stronger than Anger.  Anger is an unconscious emotion which arises without you thinking about it.  Nobody consciously chooses to be angry.  Nobody chooses anger, it just arises, like a knee-jerk reaction.  Patience is a conscious emotion.  Patience and Compassion have the energy of pure consciousness behind them.  That’s why Patience and Compassion are stronger than Anger” – quote found on MMAquotable.com

How does anger hold you back from making conscious choice about how you want to direct your life?

Are you unconscious about the direction of your life?

How often do you live your life on “auto-pilot” or by “going through the motions” and look back on the day/week/month/year and wonder what happened?  This is a perfect example of living life unconsciously.

This quote provides a simple step to increase your consciousness.

Simply start paying attention to the unconscious thoughts and choices you make.

When we become aware of these unconscious thoughts and choices, we automatically make them conscious.  Then, if we choose to, we can direct and program our lives in the direction we want it to go.  When we are not aware…we have no choice.

How could this quote assist you in programming and directing your life?

Who is going to program and direct your life?

I have had some amazing experiences this past week that I am so excited to share with everyone. These experiences are all centered around the following quote.

“If you don’t program your life…it will program it for you.” – Bruce D Schneider

What are your thoughts around this quote?

For me, this quote says that if I am not taking steps to better my life, if I am not focusing on making conscious choices on how I want to show up and what I want my life to look like…then life is going to do it for me, and I may not even realize what is happening.

This week I am going to focus my thoughts on ways we can consciously program and direct our lives in a way that enables us to live consciously.  I look forward to your thoughts and insights.

Professional Coaching…not just for athletes?

I have always been fascinated by the vital role a great coach plays in the lives of athletes.  These athletic coaches are instrumental in the success of the team they are responsible for.

Without them…the individuals as well as the team never seem to succeed at the level they do with the assistance of their coach.

Can you think of any professional sports team that operates without an experienced leader behind the bench? Would Tiger Woods golf game be where it is today without the assistance of his coach?  Imagine a high school football team without the same guidance.

No matter what the level of play is, if you want to succeed in sports you need a coach.

Should living life be any different?

Have you ever had a desire but didn’t know what you needed to do in order to realize it?

Have you ever set a goal but found yourself lacking the motivation to achieve it?

Have you felt like your life is on auto pilot and you don’t know where you want to take it?

What if you had the assistance of a professional coach that could assist you in answering these questions?

There is an option for those that are looking for this type of support and assistance…this person is a professional Life and Leadership coach.

What is a professional coach?

Although professional coaching does have its root in sports and there are many similarities, professional coaching is not based on competition or focused on win-or-lose scenario.  Coach’s focus on bringing out one’s best but not to best someone else.  Contrary to sports coaching, professional coaching helps people think and create win-win scenarios for all involved.

A professional coach is someone who will help improve your personal and/or professional life by offering support and encouragement as you work through the goals and desires you have set out to achieve. A coach is a support system with one goal in mind: improving your quality of life.

What does a professional coach do?

A professional coach will partner with you to help produce positive results, whether in your professional or personal life. They help you perform better and ultimately improve the quality of your life.

A professional coach helps bring out the potential in you, your relationships, your family, or your business.   The process is done by emotionally connecting your inner purpose and passion to outer goals and strategies to bring about extraordinary and sustainable results.

A coach is trained to listen, observe and customize an approach to your needs.  They will work to find solutions and strategies that will help you move from a place of functioning and surviving to a place of optimizing and thriving.

Do you need a professional coach?

This question is more about what you want than what you need.  No one “needs” to do anything, but there are a few reasons why you may want to work with a professional coach.  The following list of questions may help you decide:

  • Are you happy with your life, but are looking to take it to the next level?
  • Do you often feel overwhelmed from the daily tasks at hand?
  • Do you feel like you’re living life unconsciously?
  • Are you wanting to excel at a sport, but are finding that you are not improving?
  • Do you feel like everyone seems to have a master plan but you?
  • Are there goals that you would like to achieve, but you are lacking the motivation to achieve them?
  • Are you looking to become a better leader in your home and/or business life?
  • Do you want to be able to connect with more people?
  • Do you want to develop stronger relationships with your family?
  • Are you unsatisfied with your work situation and looking for more?

Answering yes to any of the above questions may suggest that you could benefit from working with a professional coach.

Is coaching right for you?

Coaching is designed for people that are functioning well and are looking to improve, stretch, and function at an even higher level.  Coaching is designed for people who are looking to release the energy the past has on them so they can move forward.  Coaches do not work with mental illness nor spend much time on your issues or problems. Coaches focus on solutions.

Before you make a decision, step back and ask what exactly you wish to accomplish with a coach. Once you establish this, a professional coach can strategize a winning plan to help you attain your goals.

Professional coaching may not be the best option for you if you don’t think you can devote the time and energy to make a change for the better. Due to the partnership approach of coaching, it is vital that you be open and willing to the commit to the full experience.

What do I do next?

If you are interested in exploring the possibilities of working with a professional coach I would love to set up a complimentary session so we can talk.

In this session we will discuss more about coaching and see if it would be a good fit for us to work together.

Please reach out to me through this post or by emailing me at travis@chooseyourpace.com

We all deserve the opportunity to work with a coach.  Life, like athletics, is more enjoyable when you have someone supporting you along the journey.   I look forward to supporting you in your journey!
